Research synopsis:
Our lab focuses on developing molecular imaging paradigms to better understand cell death and survival pathways in vivo. Cell death is the hallmark of many devastating disorders. The ability to preserve cell viability is thus of utmost importance. We take an interdisciplinary approach encompassing fundamental molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and state-of-the-art imaging technologies, nanoscience, and synthetic chemistry to gain biological and pathophysiological insights. We further apply the molecular imaging technology and mechanistic insights to bridge the preclinical experimentations to clinically relevant disease diagnosis and novel therapeutics.
