Application Fee Waivers
The application fee will be waived for applicants to GSBS PhD and MS programs who are currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Tufts University, attend an admissions event that GSBS participates in, or are affiliated with a variety of scholarship, diversity, or service programs, including:
- Amgen Scholars
- Leadership Alliance
- JAX Summer
- City Year
- Teach for America
- US Military
Note that this list is not comprehensive; the most up-to-date listing of organizations appears in the application itself.
To receive a waiver, please select the appropriate group in the "Affiliation" question in the Application Data section of the online application, and upload a letter from the program verifying participation in the Additional Documents section. Students who received a fee waiver from GSBS at a recruitment event should select "event attendee" and upload the fee waiver card or other documentation indicating which event you attended.
GSBS also offers fee waivers based on financial hardship to applicants who are US citizens or permanent residents who are applying to a PhD program in the basic sciences, and are currently enrolled in a US college or university.
Students who are interested in requesting a fee waiver based on financial hardship should first complete and submit their application through the online application portal, and then submit a letter via email explaining their situation. Requests for fee waivers must be submitted no later than November 15th.
Note that hardship fee waivers are limited to one per person per application cycle, and cannot be applied to application fees which have already been paid.
Please contact us if you have additional questions.
