NIH Virtual Graduate School Fair

The Virtual NIH Graduate and Professional School Fair provides an opportunity for attendees to prepare for the next step in their careers by exploring educational programs leading to the PhD, MD, DDS, MD/PhD, and other graduate and professional degrees. Last year, more than 280 programs from across the US (graduate, medical and dental schools, schools of public health, and other biomedically relevant programs) participated in the Virtual Fair in the hopes of recruiting future students. This year the fair will again welcome all interested college students, postbacs, and other young scientists.

The 2021 Virtual NIH Graduate & Professional School Fair will include:

  •  live workshops on admission to graduate and/or professional school (July 19, 2021)
  • online exhibitor sessions providing the opportunity for participants to learn more about different institutions and programs (July 20 through 22).

Student registration is now open!

NOTE: There is no fee to register or participate.

GSBS will have three different “tables” at this fair. Come visit us!

  • PREP Program - Tuesday, July 20, 4:30pm
  • PhD & MS Programs - Wednesday, July 21, 4:30pm

Biomedical Science Application Essay Writing

Wednesday, September 22, 5pm

We’ll look at the two primary essay prompts GSBS is using in the application and discuss different strategies for approaching them. We’ll compare the GSBS questions (and the essays we are looking for) to applications that only have one essay, and those that have multiple short answer questions. Bring your questions and your drafts with you for a discussion. You may not get black and white answers, but we can help you think about what the questions really mean, and how to present yourself in the best light possible.
