Curriculum

Students in the JAX Track participate in activities and courses at both The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Boston, MA. JAX Track PhD students spend the Fall semester of their first year at GSBS in Boston, where they complete the majority of their coursework and conduct one lab rotation. JAX Track PhD students perform three research rotations at JAX in Bar Harbor, from which they choose a dissertation mentor and lab. The qualifying exam takes place at the end of the first year, after which students embark on their thesis research at JAX.
