Students seeking admission to the Genetics Graduate Program apply to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Students interested in Mammalian Genetics at JAX must select this track when they apply.
Prospective applicants will be evaluated based on grades, GRE scores, three letters of references, and their personal statement. Prior research experience is a positive factor, but not absolutely required. A personal interview is strongly encouraged and is an important part of our evaluation process.
Most of our current students majored in a biological science during their undergraduate years.
The Graduate Record Examination is not required and, if scores are submitted, the Admissions Committees will not use the scores in the admission/interview decision. .
The application process is completed on-line. Additional information about application documents, selection criteria, and international applicant requirements can be found on the admissions page.
