Research/Areas of Interest:
I completed my PhD in Molecular Microbiology under the guidance of Karl Munger, PhD.
My work focused on human papillomaviruses - a large group of double-stranded, non-enveloped DNA viruses in the Papillomaviridae family - are implicated in the pathogenesis of a variety of cancers, including cervical, anogenital, head and neck, and cutaneous cancers. I studied how HPV E6 and E7, known oncoproteins, perturb normal developmental processes.
I am now completing the third year of medical school.
